Wilson Elementary School students joined crews from the Rapid City Parks Department to plant 28 trees at Wilson Park

Rapid City, S.D. – According to the city officials, about 100 students assisted crews and received hands-on training in planting the trees of numerous varieties.

Council members Pat Roseland, Ritchie Nordstrom and Laura Armstrong attended the event and shared a proclamation regarding Arbor Day. 

Rapid City has again received Tree City USA designation from the Arbor Day Foundation.

Last year, Robbinsdale Elementary School students assisted parks crews in planting trees at Robbinsdale Park.
