High School Basketball Roundup: Yankton boys hands STM its first loss of the season

Top-ranked St. Thomas More will close out the boys basketball regular season this weekend by hosting two the top teams in Class ‘AA’.

The Cavaliers will face Brandon Valley on Saturday night.

But first, STM squared off against the No. 2 Yankton Bucks on Friday evening at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.

The Cavaliers led by three points in the final minutes. However, the Bucks fought back to win by four, 46-42.

Hunter Kotrous scored 17 points to lead Yankton.

Yankton junior Matthew Mors was held to just five points.

The Cavaliers were led by Caden Casey with 13 points.

Yankton improves to 15-4 on the season.
