Rapid City, S.D. – State officials have announced that Governor Kristi Noem has issued an order for flags to be flown at half-staff statewide from sunrise until sunset on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, in recognition of Peace Officers Memorial Day.

Peace Officers Memorial Day is dedicated to honoring the brave men and women in law enforcement who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving their communities.

This solemn occasion coincides with National Police Week, a time to pay tribute to the dedication and sacrifice of all law enforcement officers, past and present, who courageously protect and serve our communities.
